Consulting by Men & Mice

With years of experience working with BIND and the Microsoft DNS Server, our consultants can assist you with DNS problems big and small, from troubleshooting configuration problems on a single name server to accommodating a company-wide rollout of Windows Active Directory.

Men & Mice's consultants have designed some of the world's largest DNS architectures, secured the DNS infrastructure of stock exchanges and banks, and trained countless system and network administrators.

Though every consulting engagement is different, many organizations face similar challenges. Here are a few types of engagements we've performed for several of our customers:

Integrating BIND and Windows Server (2000/2003/2008)

Companies all over the world are rolling out Windows Server Technology (2000/2003 and 2008 - Longhorn)and Active Directory on their networks. Unlike previous versions of Windows, Windows 2000 and above not only uses, but relies on DNS for proper operation. Moreover, supporting Windows Server and Active Directory requires advanced DNS features, including dynamic update.

Is your infrastructure up to the task? Can it accommodate Windows Server Technology and Active Directory securely, without jeopardizing all the other business-critical data in your namespace?

We can integrate Windows Active Directory into your existing BIND-based DNS infrastructure with a minimum of fuss, and without subjecting your static data to the possibility of apparently random deletion.
